FLAWLESS.

I mean, I don’t even know where to begin with this review. When you love a book so incredibly much that you feel like no words will do it justice. This book made me actually tear up because it was beautifully wholesome and heated with the tension between Cora and Oliver. I loved how the house party was used to bring the forced proximity at the fore front and how many times Cora and Oliver got a chance to reconnect from their childhood. Cora and her unrequited crush had a grip on my heart and watching Oliver fall, and fall HARD was EVERYTHING.

There were so many moments I highlighted because this romance brings the sweeping tale of hope and change and growing into the person you want to be. I loved how low drama the plot was without slowing anything down. The will they/won’t they was impeccable and I hit that moment where I was BEGGING for a kiss to happen.

I loved all of the characters and the sweet friendships that blossomed. I loved getting to see Marigold and Tristan again. I loved the setting and atmosphere. I’m pretty sure this is my new favorite from Joanna Barker. She is a historical romance queen.

IT WAS SWEET.

I liked this one! I haven’t read a Goutet book in a bit and I enjoyed being back in her writing style and storytelling. I loved the castle setting and the dynamics between the main couple, Perry and Marianne.

The little dash of mystery added some good forced proximity and I FELT for Marianna as she tried to navigate being a part of society. I haven’t seen much of this kind of plot decisions in historicals and I liked that unique atmosphere. I loved the way that Perry looked after Marianne and really grew into himself too. They were both people trying to take new steps forward and they found that way together.

I adore this cover. The audiobook was great and this was a nice read to spend my time with.

LOVED IT.

Goodness this was such a lovely book. I needed a read like this. I loved how this enemies/rivals to lovers was portrayed and thank heavens for dual POV. I loved getting to know both Graham and Anna. Slowly watching their realizations and misconceptions about each other were wrong and finding that long standing connection between them turn into love was all sorts of romantic.

I adored the banter and the tender moments woven throughout the story. This book was full of heat and the simmering tension had me begging for them to kiss already. I loved the longing glances and tiny touches.

What I loved all the more was that anytime I thought that things were going to turn in a direction I wouldn’t love, communication and care showed itself. I LOVE how the conflicts were handled. There’s arguments and trouble, but also forgiveness and appreciation. Megan Walker continues to be one of my favorite historical romance authors.

THIS WAS CHARMING!

I have really enjoyed the Donovan series. Each book feels completely different yet the crossing over of siblings and family is the perfect dynamic that gives you all the good emotions of coming back to a favorite series.

The banter between Sarah and Phineas was stellar. I loved the chemistry and just a dash of enemies to lovers as Phineas had unknowingly encroached on Sarah’s space. I thought it was a little slow out of the gate but as the story progressed I was increasingly attached to this relationship. It was sweet and I loved the character growth of both characters separately and how they came together in the end. And I also just really love when side characters you expect to be mean (like the Duke at the end) aren’t! It’s something satisfying to me to see things work at as they did.

I liked the plot a lot too. Sarah’s little brother was a charming addition who brought out a lot of good moments between Phineas and Sarah unwittingly (and some wittingly). It’s a quick regency romance that will bring a smile to your face. I highly recommend this series!!
