And not my last. I enjoyed this quite a bit and I loved that this had veterans and a little bit of suspense and a good enemies to lovers romance to boot. I thought it all came together well and I loved the vibes of the whole book.

I adored Beast. I loved how soft and tender he was at his core. And I love an outpouring of the soul moments and the strength it took to do so. It was great getting lots of forced proximity and small town goodness is always my jam.

I haven’t read the previous books in this series and I don’t know if that hindered me a little bit. I was missing some context for the business Jude and Jess were involved in, but as things went a long I felt caught up enough to enjoy the story.

CAN YOU HEAR ME SCREAMING?

Y’all KNOWWW I have been waiting to get my hands on this book and I went absolutely feral when the ARC copy surprised my doorstep one day. Did I then inhale the book? YES AND IT WAS WORTH IT. My highlighters appreciated dragging across the page over and over again because every moment was memorable.

Kye and Fallon have one of the deepest soulmate level bonds I’ve read in a contemporary romance. They scream WE BELONG TOGETHER and when they finally got a moment to try a true relationship between them??? STOP IT. IT WAS EVERYTHING. All of these soft moments over and over that kept showing the 1000+ ways they have loved each other for yeeeeears. I am a puddle.

And we already know how much I love this family and the group chats will be sorely missed. I love the tight connections and the way everyone looks after each other. There were some beautiful moments woven in that made this book sing all the more.

THE SUSPENSE THOUGH. I was so focused on Kyler and Fallon I did not clock the bad person in any way shape or form. I do not recommend reading in the dark in the middle of the night when the reveal happens because you might need to turn the lights on. BECAUSE WHAT.

Gosh. I’m sad this is over but it was worth every minute spent in Sparrow Falls.

PLEASANTLY SURPRISED.

I didn’t know what I was going to get out of this one. It was coming on the heels of TWO two star holiday romances and I needed a win. And oh how grateful I am that it was a win. It was a little bit too chaotic for me in the beginning but found its footing and I was charmed way by Seb.

I love marriage of convenience. If I see it, I’ve got to have it and this was clever and fun. I liked the set-up and all of the following holiday shenanigans. It’s cheerful and on the lighter side and I though the audiobook was great too. AND it’s also a hockey romance which is another tally in the win column.

One of my favorite FAVORITE aspects was that this was steamy without the spice. I loved that this had actual closed door material and brought the heat without the explicit scenes. This is my true favorite place to be and I want to to read more from Katie Bailey purely for this reason alone.

OH THIS WAS SO GOOD.

I was obsessed with this one from the first chapter y’all. It hit so incredibly well from the opening pages (I will also note the audiobook was incredible too). It gave me vibes from Jade City + Blood Over Bright Haven + Babel. And as someone who’s not an urban fantasy fan, this is the exception to the rule tenfold. YOU MUST READ IT. Easily my new favorite book from Marie Lu (and I’ve read them all).

This was convoluted and hard hitting and felt like the beginning of an epic saga. I loved the star-crossed lovers vibes BUT I will say this is not a ROMANCE in the usual sense. It does play a strong role in combination with many other factors and added the perfect dash to make me love this book even more.

I loved the dark nature of these competing companies and how sand is woven into the magic system. The alchemy idea is so cool (and frightening) and I thought it was awesome. I loved the morally grayness of everyone involved and the intricate layers of each character. I could not get enough of this book and I MUST have book two ASAP.
