LOVED THIS.

This is the first book by Audra Wells I have read and it won’t be my last. I thought this was an absolute gem of a read and had such a great time with it. It had this very slight modern tone to it and a bit of a rom-com vibe in the midst of a regency romance and I was all over how well it was written.

Wesley and Clara had my attention from the beginning. I loved the banter and the predicament they put themselves into. There were balls and forced proximity and carriage rides and all the things I love seeing that shows the development in a relationship I crave. Some of those moments in the second half had me SWOONING. And wow do I love a great kissing scene too.

I had a hard time putting this one down and thought it was beautifully paced and had the right level of drama and pull that kept me coming back for more. Can’t wait to read more books in this series!

NEW KASIE WEST FAVORITE.

Well I was just absolutely charmed with this book y’all. At the core is a true young adult novel with a lot of relatable themes and content that’s appropriate for this age group. I loved the the teenage drama wasn’t over the top and lent itself to many great moments of character growth and self reflection for Finley.

And I was smitten with the romance. It was so sweet and also showcased mistakes and communication and hearing each other out. I loved the support Theo gave Finley in her endeavors and his kind nature. The banter was cheeky and fun and I loved the chemistry between them.

I also loved that Finley worked on her friendships, finding out what the next life step was and realized the true nature of being a vengeful person can become. All of the grandma content was really sweet and I was very involved in knowing her story. It was a great addition to the plot and seriously, this book was an absolute gem.

BEST ON AUDIO.

This was a hefty book y’all. And one I think is best read on audio because I feel like it helped the pacing a lot more. Some of the middle gets bogged down in sub plots that took awhile to come back around to where this story was always heading towards.

As a surprise to me, this had a great diverse cast! I loved seeing the development of all the relationships and the heartache and trials that come with a wartime romance. I felt all the things and yet was satisfied where the conclusions led to.

I thought the overall intrigue and premise was interesting and I liked much of the buildup and mystery surrounding the Huntress. It had this aura of danger and awareness and those reveals towards the end were fantastic.

POINTS FOR THE BLINDSIDE.

I, your humble reader, have read over 1,000 fantasy books. AND NOT ONE has had this kind of twist. I am reeeeeeling from it y’all. I LOVE IT. I loved the chaos it caused and how wild the ending became and how I must have my hands on book two NOW.

There were a few issues with the world building and magic system that didn’t make sense. I was able to overlook these enough because of how much I enjoyed having a unique fantasy romance to read.

The romance is heated and tender and I enjoyed the way relationships were conveyed in this world. I liked all of the characters and found the pacing was steady. It flew by and is absolutely worth the download.
